Weekly update from the South Yardley Neighbourhood policing team |
||
Dear Members, Here’s a quick round up from the South Yardley neighbourhood policing team.
Another successful week for our team and more plans being discussed for events, meetings and operations. Firstly, we want to wish all of our Jewish Community a joyful Rosh Hashanah and a meaningful fast. Shannah Tova and may you be inscribed for a good year from us all on South Yardley! We are seeing a reduction in some of those begging at the traffic lights along the Coventry Road. However we know there is still a few coming between certain times of the day. We are doing everything we can to locate these and enforce this were possible. Some are already listening to their conditions on their CPW/CPN’s. We are seeing more parcels coming through containing drugs that we are seizing and destroying. Our PCSOs were able to seize a trolley full! This is successful and we are pushing back to those correct departments to assist us with it not being transported to any local depots. We are aware of an issue regarding off roaders continue to cause disruption on the road and in local parks. We are organising more operations in the coming months with our Road harm prevention team to assist us in this. More reports from us are being sent into the council and the Environmental agency to assist in cleaning and prosecuting those that continue to commit such acts. As a result, we will be looking at hot spot areas and we will be discussing with other partners to assist us in cleaning up those areas to prevent this from happening. Many of those areas have CCTV and these individuals are being seen and were possible we will continue to seize vehicles. Parking enforcement are continuing their patrols around the Yew Tree regarding the concerns around illegal parking. They have found in 15 more vehicles parked illegally and all of those have been issued penalty notices. Officers alone this week have also issued a total of 35 parking fines and we are continuing to seize vehicles for no tax and insurance. The team, including the Sergeant has been conducting patrols and making arrests where possible. This has bene with prolific offenders, as a result of stop searches and other criminal investigations. This is a success to the team and the area due to their involvement on the area. We will continue these and ensuring those offenders causing our businesses and communities harm we will continue our work. It is vital should you see anything it is reported this will assist us in reducing the impact on the area and to everyone involved. After speaking to the council regarding the popping up Caravans in the area. These are now starting to be removed as a result. Some of them have been a concerning fire hazard or being used as deposition sites. Some have also caused Road Traffic Accidents. We are happy to see these now be removed and should anyone wish to place these on the road without permission or abandon them we will seek to get these removed to ensure no harm or ASB is taking place. We know there is still a few more and these have been raised to be removed. In the coming weeks and months there will be a few changes to Neighbourhood teams to ensure this assist and supports with the new restructure of Neighbourhood Policing. Our team will say goodbye to some officers as they move teams to assist with the current demand and we will also welcome officers joining the team in both PC and PCSO roles. We want to say a huge Thank You to those that have been sending in information and intelligence to us to progress and deal with immediately. This assists us in being able to target the problems and individuals involved to reduce and disrupt the concerns and activity.
